The BRUT series formulates a photographic attitude that distances itself from technical perfection and staged artificiality.
It sees itself as a counter-movement to the aesthetics of a world overloaded with images – and seeks a form of seeing and thinking that provides an impetus to encounter the seemingly familiar in a new way.
The reduction creates a visual language that takes the visible seriously in its independence.

The works approach surfaces that go unnoticed in everyday life.
Inscribed are traces of time, weathering and use – condensations of material that manifest themselves as visual events.
What initially appears as a fragment unfolds as an independent order: structures that are reminiscent of landscapes and at the same time elude any clear classification.

They are structures that invite each viewer to discover something different, thus enabling an individual view.
The photographic moment lies in allowing.
The detail gains presence, the overlooked gains significance.
This creates a calm, concentrated form of seeing that does not dictate, but opens up.

In the tradition of the idea formulated by Marcel Proust, the focus is not on what is new, but on what is seen differently.
The works open up a space in which perception shifts – quietly, but sustainably.
